Is it possible to reapply that thick creamy sunscreen over a full face make up? It sounds strange because there is no specific type of sunscreen one can use over a full face makeup. It’s either you clean up your makeup and apply your sunscreen then redo your makeup (whispers..I can’t do that) or you leave your makeup and use a product with SPF that gives you little sun protection. One thing is for sure, never leave the house without sunscreen. Sometimes applying sunscreen in the morning is not just enough, you need to do reinforcement during the day, and it all depends on what works best for you. Now I will be sharing with you some tips on how to reapply sunscreen with makeup on.
Apply a strong base of sunscreen.
Most times people don’t apply the recommended amount of sunscreen i.e 1/4 teaspoon on the face alone, as sunscreens don’t last all day, sunrays tends to overcome the UV filters and they stop working. But if you apply the recommended amount in the morning then it can last longer but not all day. Before applying your foundation, wait for at least 10-15 minutes for the sunscreen to settle, use a beauty sponge or brush in a stippling motion to apply your foundation.Don’t rub so you don’t clean off some of the sunscreen.

How to reapply sunscreens on warmer days
On days like this especially during summer, I’ll prefer not wearing makeup because I get oily on my T-zone and it makes my makeup a bit messy. But sometimes I find myself in a situation where I have to wear makeup for some reasons(whispers…best known to me). In case of situations like this, I do little makeup, a thin layer of foundation, concealer, blush, my brows, and lipstick to finish the look. If you want more it’s okay, but I’ll pass so that I don’t have to do a lot during reapplication. So….. How do I reapply sunscreen? I use spray sunscreens. I just spray over my face and let it sit for some minutes then I gently pat them in without ruining my makeup.
Note: never use spray sunscreens as a base sunscreen in the morning as you can’t see sprays and you don’t know if it covers your entire face.
How to reapply sunscreens during colder periods.
On days like these people think they can get away without wearing sunscreens, but ladies…..the Devil is in the details. As long as day breaks then the sun is up there. And sweetie….it emits UVA and UVB rays, so slather on that required amount of sunscreen before anything else. Since the weather is cold and one can hardly stay outdoors for long. You can get away with reapplying sunscreen a little less often. As your base sunscreen is less exposed to sunlight and it will lose its effectiveness more slowly. So, to reapply my sunscreen, I use powders with SPF to reinforce my sunscreen and also as a touch up for my makeup so it’s a 2-way thing. Even though it won’t give you much protection at least it’s better than none, right? Just make sure to reapply and be careful not to end up looking cakey.
How to reapply sunscreens on burning hot days.
Honestly, I can only think of how profusely I will be sweating. And if I had an option of skipping on even the sunscreen,I will, but it’s a no way out. So, I just do a super soft glam or a real natural look. No foundation, just concealers on problem areas like under the eye, and corners of the mouth (use concealers that are your exact shade). Mascara, pencil liner to line my eyes and matte lipstick to complete the look. After exposure to the sun I just use my morning sunscreen to reinforce. I have a combination skin type and it’s more on the oily side. So I use chemical sunscreen because they are lightweight and easier to apply on makeup without messing it up.
Hope this was helpful.
